The effective steps to manage stress are discussed below:

  • Meditation : Try to indulge self into some form of meditation. It helps the body in relaxing and make oneself focused. Through this, new perceptions are developed along with self-compassion and calm nature.
  • Take a break : Just take a break for yourself from the work and indulge yourself into some form of your liked activities such as sports or adventure. This will divert your attention from your stressed work thereby de-stressing yourself.
  • Exercise : It is just another method to manage stress. Exercise not only keeps one's body fit but also keeps one's mind fresh. Just take out sometime for jogging, walking, swimming and its effect will last long for several hours.
  • Laughing : Stress makes a person look grim or sad. To relieve from the stress, just laugh out or at least smile.
  • Social media : Make yourself attached to social media and share your problems with your friends. Seek solution if possible to get relieved from the stress.

The five barriers to effective communication skills are given below:

  • Use of jargons. Jargons are the special words which may be difficult to understand by others such as unfamiliar or technical terms
  • Lack of interest in the communication which causes distractions and leads to ineffective communication.
  • Personal differences on views may lead to argument and disrupt the communication.
  • Sometimes physical disabilities such as hearing and speaking problems also lead to ineffective communication.
  • Difference in languages also pose threat to effective communication.

The steps in developing effective communication skills are discussed below:

  • For starting any effective communication, trust must be established between speaker and the audience. Trust will help the speaker to persuade others to listen to him.
  • Be clear and concise while speaking. This also depends on confidence which can be built up by rehearsing before actual talk.
  • For establishing an effective communication, the barriers must be removed such as language or any other technical barrier.
  • The body language and tone of your voice are important. Be warm and welcoming and smiling while talking and use moderate tone of voice which helps in keeping the confidence high.
  • Speak on the basis of real facts and statistics, never assume anything as it will reflect bad impression among the audience.
