Answer #1

Depression can be treated by numerous treatments, the most common one involves the use of antidepressants along with psychotherapy. Antidepressants are known to alleviate the symptoms of depression and can provide some relief. Psychotherapy deals with practices such as CBT(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) which are used to identify and correct the causes of depression. Additionally, one might opt for practices like Group Therapy and Nutritional Therapy(especially for people suffering from nutrient deficiencies) There is considerable evidence showing the efficacy of CBT and Group Therapy for the alleviation of the symptoms of depression. Though there isn't much evidence supporting the intake of vitamin and mineral supplements to treat depression, correcting nutritional deficiencies can certainly have a major impact on mental wellbeing. Psychotherapy is now being considered more for the treatment of depression. While conventional antidepressant medication can help deal with depression in the short term, it is not advisable in the long run. This is because antidepressants usually have side effects, and their positive effects might wear off after a while. This is why Psychotherapy is gaining more popularity as a primary choice for the treatment of depression.
