  • TCP or IP means the Transmission Control Protocol or Internet Protocol.
  • TCP/IP is a suite of communication protocols which is used to interconnect network devices on the internet.
  • TCP/IP can also be used as a communications protocol in a private network i.e., intranet or extranet.
  • TCP sends data packet and receiving the data packets over the Internet.
  • IP defines how to address and route packets to the destination.
  • TCP/IP requires some management and it is deliberate to make networks reliable, the ability to recover automatically from the failure of any device on the network.
  • TCP/IP is the suite of communication protocol used to connect host.
  • Its main protocols are TCP and IP. It also supports several protocols those are RTP, Telnet, HTTP, SNMP, DNS, OSPF, RIP, ICMP, IGMP, ARP and RARP.
  • TCP/IP is build into the UNIX operating system.
  • TCP/IP reasonably efficient to do end-to-end communications and also identify how packets are broken, transmitted, routed and received.
