Who should in your view decide about the acceptability of risks? Engineers? Politicians? Company managers? The public? Argue your answer and discuss what your view would imply for the responsibility of engineers with respect to safety.

The biggest responsibility needs to be of the politicians who have the power to define and decline all the rules in place. The reason being the fact that no matter what we say and do they have to define the rules and norms in a place and this will then impact who they are in teh long run. This is also the time and position which people hold to reinvent the feelings they have in place and also the fact that it is these people who can set up rules and guidelines to define safety and standards. Even the engineers can be guided and told by these political leaders who play an integral role in power defining in a long run.
