Two electrons in a vacuum exert force of F = 2.95E-08 N on each other. They are then moved so that they are separated by x = 9.8 times their original distance.

Answer #1

Coulomb's constant = k

Charge on each electron = q

Initial distance between the two electrons = d1

Initial force exerted by the electrons on each other = F1 = 2.95 x 10-8 N

New distance between the two electrons = d2 = 9.8d1

New force exerted by the electrons on each other = F2

F2 = 3.07 x 10-10 N

Force the electrons experience at the new separation distance = 3.07 x 10-10 N
