If you read the book Emotional Intelligence 2.0, you must research Emotional Intelligence training. The author of the book Emotional Intelligence 2.0 offers a train-the-trainer session. L&D Managers attend the training and become certified to offer the training course at their organizations. If this is your selection, you must spell out both steps in your project. Step 1: L&D Manager becomes certified and Step 2: they return to their organization and facilitate the training. The cost for each step must be outlined. OR, and this is much simpler, you may say the facilitator is already certified and only focus on step 2, where the certified facilitator conducts training for the organization.

Discuss the training program you researched, as follows:

General Information:

  • Start with the title and author

Content:

  • Provide a VERY BRIEF outline of concepts (bullet points are fine)

Usage:

  • Why would you use this in an organization?
  • What problems would learning this content help solve?

Target Audience:

  • Who would be the target audience for this training?
  • The Cost of the training:

  • How much is the training you selected?
    • Is there a train-the-trainer for the facilitator?
    • Is there a facilitator's guide? How much does it cost?
    • Are their participant materials available for purchase? How much do they cost?
  • **Note: A training video is not a training program.

The purpose of this research is to learn about new content that you are not familiar with or would like to learn more about. Please do not use broad titles such as Communication Skills. You must identify a specific program. You also are not to use propriety training such as training to learn a computer program your company uses. If you are not sure whether a program is acceptable for this assignment, email the professor.

Many organizations have in-house training departments. It is the responsibility of the training department to train employees on soft skills such as Emotional Intelligence, Management Skills, Leadership Skills, Communication Skills, etc. (Refer to the list in the opening PowerPoint.) In these cases, the trainer would learn the material and facilitate the training. They may attend a train-the-trainer by an outside vendor such as TalentSmart for Emotional Intelligence or Extended DISC Training for Facilitators for DISC training.

In other areas, trainers may bring in subject matter experts to facilitate training. This should only be done when the trainer does not have the expertise in a particular area to facilitate the training themselves. For example, if the Supply Chain department needs high-level negotiation skills training or the Quality department needs FMEA or a version of APQP. In these cases, an outside vendor or an in-house subject matter expert would facilitate the training. It would be up to the training department to arrange and coordinate the training. If the training is provided by an in-house subject matter expert, the training department may have to review the training to make sure it is properly designed and sequenced and that the facilitator is properly prepared.

Answer #1

The Title for my Emotional Intelligence Discussion and Training session would be Inclusion and Work Based Relationships.

I choose this title because of analysis that has been conducted in today's generation seeking that many people have the IQ (Intelligence Quotient) level higher than the EQ (Emotional Quotient). They know how to perform a particular job but doesn't know about the relationships shared or the emotional aspects of the job performed by them. Thus, to outline my topic these discussions would be taken under this:

• Evaluating the Emotional Quotient in the employees.

• Understanding their skills and strengths.

• Helping them coping with their Weaknesses

• Training them for the better understanding of their traits

• Developing them more towards their growth prospects

  • Why would you use this in an organization?

As a manager, I would like to introduce such training sessions in my organisation to make the employee work force better individuals not only in perspective of Intelligence but also the Emotional stability. Nowadays, many employees are having emotional crises and are not able to handle work or job pressure. This leads to many physical diseases and problems thus affecting the individuals and organisation too. Thus, to make and establish a healthy environment, this session would have been conducted.

  • What problems would learning this content help solve?

The problems of emotional burn out, fatigue, depression, anxiety, work load pressure, personal life balance and demotivation and loss of self esteem would be able to solve if we include the emotional intelligence activities in our organisation to make people gain confidence within themselves.

  • Who would be the target audience for this training?

The target audience for this training would be the young adults ageing from (21-40) in our organisation. These people are very power driven individuals who have abundant amount of energy and knowledge within themselves to learn and develop things. Thus, an emotional intelligence support should have been provided to them to utilise their power into the most effective channels.

  • The Cost of the training:

The cost of training would be high. Many professors and consultants would be hired from external sources who charge a very high amount for their training sessions. Although this is a one time investment for the company as higher costs will result in higher effectivity and efficiency in the organisation to make people work better and perform better, thus making profits in the long run.

  • How much is the training you selected?
    • Is there a train-the-trainer for the facilitator?
  • No there is not any train the trainer facilitator. We have hired individuals from external sources and best reputed market to make the employees learn and develop more.
    • Is there a facilitator's guide? How much does it cost?
  • Yes, the services we are rendering from external sources are freelancers. Thus, every freelancer has his own price per hour and payout sessions that would cost for the company.
    • Are their participant materials available for purchase? How much do they cost?
    • Yes there are participant materials like books, readings, journal etc available for the purchase for employees to make them learn more about emotional intelligence like any other learning.
