For my physics Momentum lab, we're doing the experiment with a stationery and moving glider where...

For my physics Momentum lab, we're doing the experiment with a stationery and moving glider where basically one glider hits another and we're proving the conservation of momentum, but of course with error you usually see a loss in momentum which can be explain through friction however, our numbers show an INCREASE IN MOMENTUM.  What could have caused that?

Ideally the momentum should be conserved, however in real case we might some change in momentum. Increase in momentum might be beacuse of some force which we are not taking into account. If the table is not perfectly horizontal and is tilted in one direction, then there will be a gravitational force that might lead to increase in velocity and hence increase in momentum. Also, wind in the direction of motion of glider also increases the momentum.
