What are the phases in a traditional project life cycle? How does a project life cycle differ from a product life cycle? Why does a project manager need to understand both?v
Traditional project life cycle is basically of combination of
project it has some phases which are:
1. The first phase is basically the concept of the project in which
a blueprint is designed.
2. The second phase is development phase in which project is
designed
3. The third phase is implementation in which we develop the
project.
4. The fourth phasse is the close-out phase in which we test and
deploy the project.
Project life cycle and Product life cycle both don't differ that much. A system development life cycle is basically almost same as other product life cycle as spiral or waterfall model they don't vary that much.
A project manager need to understand both because both have different purpose like SDLC will help understand the project requirement and its modules like planning analysis etc where as the product life cycle will specifically tells how the product will work what software and hardware we will be needing to deploy it etc
