There are many advantages of survey research. survey research helps researcher to collect fresh and primary data direct from respondent which make research more reliable because it comes direct from source. survey research also helps researchers to get accurate data with more honest responses if researcher make sure that respondents are feeling anonymous and their privacy is maintained then they tend to give more candid response like become more participative.
Surveys are useful in describing the characteristics of a large population. No other research method can provide this broad capability. Surveys are flexible in nature because Surveys can be administered in many modes, including: online surveys, email surveys, social media surveys, paper surveys, mobile surveys, telephone surveys, and face-to-face interview surveys.

Face to face survey in which researcher ask questions to people or respondents directly manner. for example- a person doing marketing research can ask customers to tell about the brand and how much they like its products or like its competitors products etc.
Online Survey method is the method in which companies uses online medium like social media sites to give survey questions to users on the site and collect data from them.

6- Paper surveys: As the name suggests, this survey uses the traditional paper and pencil approach. Many would believe that paper surveys are a thing of past. However, they are quite handy when it comes to field research and data collection. These surveys can go where computers, laptops or other handheld devices cannot go.
7- panel surveys - these surveys are administered to the same set or group of people over the years. Panel surveys are expensive in nature and researchers to try to stick to their panel to gather unbiased opinions.
8- cohort survey. In this type of survey, people are categorized on meeting certain similar criteria and characteristics. It is not necessary that the same people will form a group, however, people forming a group should have certain similarities .
9- Trend surveys are deployed by researchers to understand the shift or transformation in the thought process of respondents over a period of time. These surveys are administered to understand how people’s inclination change with time.
10- Retrospective survey: Retrospective survey is a type of survey in which respondents are asked to report events from the past. By deploying this kind of survey researchers can gather data based on past experiences and beliefs of people .
