Answer:-

Hope its helps you..

What would be the solution to this issue?

The physician should be punished with a positive punishment. A positive punishment makes the person to realize his mistakes and give chance to rectify him. The solution to the present problem would be giving a serious warning to the physician along with one or two days suspension (Must be paid for the suspended days) and an intimation to the same to his wife/if not married parents. During these days the physician will be not doing anything and think about why he is kept as idle for two days.

Consider the following questions below for the decision making process:

What is the problem? What actions will solve this problem? What are the consequences of these actions? What ethical principles support each action? What is the best decision, and can I support this decision?

The problem is his attitude and character. Bullying is a kind of nasty behaviour caused only when a person don’t have character and attitude. When people don’t have these characteristics they would not care about others and their feelings. Normally this kind of behaviour is exhibited by the people under non-surveillance conditions and with a security for life.

The actions suggested and their affect on problem:

Suspending the physician for two days (Paid) – The paid suspension would see that there no other thoughts come into the physician mind like job switching etc.
Intimation about the incident to his family members – This would work on to the present situation that the physician don’t use time for his entertainment but spend time ideally at home and try to find reasons when his children ask him about his presence at home.
The consequences of these actions:

1.The physician would have time to think about his punishment

2.Have a chance to change or realize himself

3.Change his attitude and behaviour

4.Don’t try to repeat this kind of nasty behaviour

5.Concentrate on work

The ethical principles support each action:

The first action is taken where he is not punished with pay or money which is not having any effect on the budgetary constraints of the family.

Intimation about the incident to his wife or family is ethically correct where the same not informed to police or public which is again ethically justified. Because it is affecting his image at public but act as to have a positive influence on his way of behaviour.

Giving positive punishment like giving paid holidays or suspension would be suggested for this kind of behaviour. You can follow it as it is ethically and legally also viable.
