Explain some reasons why popular cinema came to be dominated by movies devoted to telling fictional stories. What are the specific qualities of the cinematic medium and our cultural traditions that brought about such an emphasis on narrative? (250 word +)

For long, people enjoyed listening to stories that are fictional because people were thrilled about listening to something which they haven’t seen or heard that far. Thus, even when telling a real story, people added their own opinions and ideas that would make the story interesting. Thus, oral traditions always exaggerated the stories in order to keep the listeners involved. This means people wants to listen and visualize things that do not exist in reality. So, when oral traditions were transformed to written form in terms of novels, people had the opportunity to put their imagination and wishes in their writings. Those that differed from the normal world caught the attention of the readers more.

Thus, when the movies started their existence in the society, they were able to visualize whatever was in the book because most of the movies were taken based on the books. People enjoyed the visual treat along with the sound effects. Different creatures, aliens and other concepts that people had never heard of catch their attention immediately. Before movies, it was drama that people enjoyed here the narratives were most vividly used. People also feel happy about spreading something that is interesting among themselves because telling stories was one of the most important past time for people who worked hard. People enjoy the thrill of new characters, new landscapes they haven’t imagined and new sound effects with the help of the technology that adds more value to the movies. So, it’s true that people love what’s not in existence and that they also wish that they could live in such a setting.
