What is the role of a revenue manager to identify needs of the customer and make strategic decisions to accommodate those needs?
Answer: (a) Matrices are an important tool for monitoring and controlling the strategic decisions implemented by a company. The matrices act enables the managers to track the performance of the various strategies implemented inside the organization. Hence they provide an objective view about the success or failure of a strategy. I will therefore continue to use matrices as measure for making assessment about the success or failures of a strategy and develop new strategies based on it. The metrics are reliable as they are based on the facts and figures that are collected from different areas inside the organizations. They enable an analysis that is based on the data and facts.
(B) The revenue managers develop pricing strategies that enables the organizations to become competitive at the marketplace. The revenue managers therefore work in close co operation with the sales and marketing and other departments to understand the needs of the customers in terms of pricing and develop pricing strategies that are as per the needs of the customers while maintaining the profitability for the organization.
