1). According to Adler's theory of birth order, the personality and characteristics of the child is influenced by the order of their birth. First born child/sibling is most likely to demonstrate the characteristics of perfectionism, leadership, and responsibility.

2). According to Erikson, before one can be successful in developing intimate relationships, one must first have a sense of self. Erikson said that those who do not develop a sense of self in their growing adolescence phase have difficulty in developing intimate relationship and may feel lonlier.

4). Adler recommended the following parenting advice for the following children: only children need to spend more time with peers ,(as this will help them have company of similar age group children, only children are often centre of attention and they seek to be the center of attention elsewhere too, so more time with peers will help them coexist) , whereas middle children/second-borns need to be given more attention, as they may feel "invisible".
