Should a version of the Central Limit Theorem be used to find the probability that a randomly selected laptop computer has a lifespan of over 7 years? Please explain !

Yes central limit can be applied to any distribution if 'no. of observation (n)>30'  irrespective of skewness.

This is because we see that when as the sample size the sample becomes normally distributed sample. In general n=30 is considered large.
