• Data volatility is defined as the rate of change in the values of stored data over a period of time and pertaining to it.
• The data is constantly being added, updated or edited into databases and hence they are volatile.
• The data analysis becomes too difficult because of the volatility caused by the transaction processing.
• The data are extracted from databases, transformed and loaded into a data warehouse in order to overcome this problem.
• The warehouse data are not volatile.

Problems associated with cloud computing -

1. Compatibility -

• The problem of compatibility might arise while migrating to the cloud with an existing IT infrastructure or with company organizational policies or security requirements.
• To solve the compatibility issue pre-planning should be done.

2. Confidentiality -

• It is one of the main concern in cloud computing.
• The protection of company's sensitive data becomes priority and concern if it is necessary to handle that sensitive data.
• Any business might feel less confident while sharing their vital data with external party.
• There might be a possibility of data leak as well.

3. Security -

• The entire structure must be evaluated and not just confidentiality.
• Some of the points such as Who will access the information? What security services and protection measures are offered by the cloud? Where is the data exactly going to be stored? Whether the data is transmitted in encrypted form all the times or in unsecured plaintext? should be addressed.

4. Quality -

• The quality standards should be trusted by the business that a provider offers over time.
• In case of degradation of quality how easy it is to switch providers? should be thought of.

5. Trust -

• Not all the cloud service providers are the same.
• There might be interruption in the services through cloud computing by an unforeseen events.
• The communications might be slow or shut down during disaster situation.
• A careful assessment of cloud service provider is important. Blind trust should not be kept.
