since sample is solid we can record IR using potassium bromide (KBr) as reference.

method to record IR

record IR of KBr pellet with out sample

now mix the sample with KBr and make as pellet

record IR for solid sample mixed with KBr

now subract the IR of KBr

your will get the IR of your solid sample.

we can record IR of solid sample without any reference

make a pellet of your sample and record IR
