1. Religion in Politics- Several countries around the world today have been founded on the basis of secularism, including France and Turkey–that is, the separation of church and state. Separation supporters believe that personal beliefs should not be involved in politics, and people should be allowed to worship as they wish, while critics argue that a state religion helps preserve a secular government and society and can help control radical groups like the KKK.

2. Medical Marijuana-The legalization of marijuana for commercial use is one of the biggest political issues in the United States at the moment. Although some states permitted marijuana recreationally, it has already been approved for medicinal purposes by 23 states and the District of Columbia. Medical marijuana proponents declare its use as a cure for, among others, symptoms of multiple sclerosis and epilepsy, while critics say to be a gateway drug and hinder fertility. Second, as of 1996, voters in many states passed laws allowing patients with a doctor's claim confirming the need to have access to marijuana.
