The units of data that corresponds to a certain activity in Project Management, is not the same as its units of variances. This happens owing to the fact that in the calculation of the variances in an activity, the differences are squared. Therefore the unit value does not remain the same. Therefore, once the standard deviation is found out by taking the square root of the sum of the activity variance, it becomes feasible to assign the units to its data set in given Project.
