Answer #1

In this present scenario where social media and networking has an important role to play, Crowdsourcing is a wonderful concept where different people come together to help each other with a cause, for problem solving, or to work on a project, etc. It is basically used to get the work done quickly, yet efficiently and effectively. When we split the word crowdsourcing, it is divided into two words - crowd and outsourcing. So, crowdsourcing means, outsourcing the work to the crowd. This concept can be applied in different scenarios. Let's looks at few scenarios -

Recently, there was a need of blood for an infant with a rare blood group. When the news of the same is spread on social networking sites, many people with same blood group all across the state poured in to help the infant. This way crowdsourcing could help an infant from dying.

An other example is, when there is a disaster or a natural calamity in one state, hundreds of people lose their lives, thousands of them get stranded at their houses with no help, in that situation, the entire nation come together to help the people. Many people donate money to relief fund organization that helps the people in such grave situation. Few people offer food, clothes, water, medicines, etc to such people. Thousands of food packets and water bottles are given away by the public to the needy. This way, they try to make sure people are cared in such difficult situations. Such examples are classic examples for disaster management.

In an other example, where a person has been feeding homeless and orphans for the last many years with his own money. When his story went viral on internet, thousands of people donated money to him such that he can continue doing the good work he has been doing. There will be so many examples around the world where crowdsourcing plays a major role in helping out people in the times of disaster.
