Imagine that you are in the following real life situation. You are managing a small retail store. However, you are having trouble monitoring the staff. Employees are showing up late to work, refusing to help customers, taking naps on the job, and stealing items from the shelves. What measures would you take in order to improve worker compliance and productivity?

If I am facing this situation in my workplace, I would call a team meeting and try to understand what problems they are facing and try to solve them. If still these are not solved, I would connect with them on a one-on-one meeting such that there could be some reasons which they wants to discuss personally. If they comes up with problems with feasible solutions, I will for sure solve them as if employees are not happy working here or not productive, I would not be able to make profits in long run. I will try to give them a new incentive if that works out or take the team to the dinner. If still they are working efficiently, there is some deep problem which I am not able to find out or employees are not willing to discuss with the, I will try hiring new employees which is possible in small retail store but not in any big corporation.
