Answer #1

Weight %age of solution = 5.08%

Weight of the solute (NaCl) given = 1.79g

Weight of solvent ( water) = ?

And weight %age of solution is calculated as,

Wt % of soln = (mass of solute × 100) / mass of solution

5.08 = (1.79g÷ mass of solution) × 100

Mass of solution =( 1.79 g ×100)/5.08

= 35.24 g

Mass of solvent = mass of solution - mass of solute

= 35.24g - 1.79g

= 33.45g

So, mass of water in solution = 33.45g
