Answer #1

Answer:

Step 1: Explanation:

A mole ratio is the ratio between the amounts in moles of any two compounds involved in a chemical reaction. The mole ratio can be determined by examining the coefficients in front of formulas in a balanced chemical equation.

Step 2: write the balanced chemical equation.

2 Na(s) + 2 H2O(l) ---> 2 NaOH(aq) + H2(g)

Step 3: Calculation of moles of sodium consumed

2 Na(s) + 2 H2O(l) ---> 2 NaOH(aq) + H2(g)

According to the reaction:

2 mol of  H2O completely reacts with 2 mol of  Na

so, 6 mol of  H2O will completely reacts with =( 2 mol of Na / 2 mol of  H2O )× 6 mol of H2O= 6  mol of  Na

Hence, moles of sodium consumed = 6 moles

Step 4: Calculation of  the moles of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) produced

2 Na(s) + 2 H2O(l) ---> 2 NaOH(aq) + H2(g)

According to the reaction:

2 mol of H2O produced  2 mol of NaOH

so, 6 mol of H2O will produce = ( 2 mol of NaOH / 2 mol of H2O )× 6 mol of H2O = 6 mol of  NaOH

Step 5: Calculation of  the moles of hydrogen (H2) produced

2 Na(s) + 2 H2O(l) ---> 2 NaOH(aq) + H2(g)

According to the reaction:

2 mol of H2O produced 1 mol of H2

so, 6 mol of H2O will produce = ( 1 mol of H2 / 2 mol of H2O )× 6 mol of H2O = 3 mol of H2

1. Moles of sodium(Na) consumed = 6 moles

2.Moles of Sodium hydroxide produced = 6 moles

3. Moles of Hydrogen produced = 3 moles
