How would you find these? What formula can I use and would I need to use Minitab to get the answers?

(a) z=-0.99 for a left tail test for a mean

Round your answer to three decimal places.

(b) z=4.20 for a right tail test for a proportion

Round your answer to three decimal places.

(c) z=-1.53 for a two-tailed test for a difference in means

Answer #1

Answer)

You can solve these by looking into standard normal z table

A)

Left tailed means <

From z table, P(z<-0.99) = 0.1611

B)

Right tailed, means >

From z table, P(z>4.2) = 0

C)

From z table, P(z<-1.53) = 0.063

As the test is two tailed, answer is 2*0.063 = 0.126
