Papa John us a popular pizza chain which ranks third largest after Pizza Hut and Domino's in United States. There are around three thousand pizzerias in the states. It has a strong reputation for using ingredients which are fresh and focused on quality along with its focus on customer satisfaction. One of the strong competitor is Cici which is known as independent pizzeria. Papa John has more franchised restaurants.This also causes stagnation in the revenue as a result of the closing of few franchised restaurants. The menu has pizza with limitation of side dishes like chicken strips. The pizza quality is the focus and menus are usually adapted affording to the local taste. There are quality control centers at Papa John's with it's focus on delivering fresh ingredients and independent evaluation with regards to the quality.

The needs of the consumers were also strategized along with the focus on digital strategy.

There is high bargaining power of customers as customers can easily make a switch to other available pizza options like Cici's pizza. There is low threat of bargaining power of suppliers with the presence of so many pizza industry which is highly competitive.

Papa John focuses on differentiation strategy and there is focus on using combination of structured and dynamic process.

Cici's pizza is among the 9th largest chain of pizzas in USA according to the report by Pizza Franchise. It offers low priced pizza and unlimited pizza buffet. It changed it's name from Cici's pizza to Cicis beyong pizza to make it easier for people to remember. It also changed it's marketing strategy. The campaign helped to establish that Cicis is indeed more than just pizza. It changed it's menu and offered even healthy food choices.

When compared to Papa John it provides more options for menu and healthier options. It is easier on the pockets and offers unlimited pizza buffet option.
