Is it reasonable to expect coaches (especially those recruiting players) will monitor players’ and recruits’ social media accounts? Why or why not? If a school is going to make a four-plus year investment in a student-athlete, does it have a right to know the “real” person? Can we even know the “real” person via social media? If you were a coach, would you monitor recruits’ and players’ social media accounts? Would you allow them to have public accounts? Why or why not? How does this affect fan interaction with their teams?

Answer #1

Coaches cannot interfere in the personal life of players . They cannot monitor the social media accounts of the team but can set some rules like not posting stuff related to match plans, discussions of team etc., They should not interfere more than that . They cannot know the real person using their social media accounts as most of the people using social media does not use it in a genuine manner. Therefore they must stop using social media of players to know them. Player must be given freedom about their personal life and they can be allowed to have their social media accounts until and unless they breach any of the codes of the team. They need to interact with their fans and must have their life so that they can know how much people like them and get motivated by them.

Possibly one of the most significant social topics of our time is how technology, and specifically social media, is influencing different aspects of social psychology. This is particularly relevant to our topic here in a few different ways. One that stands out is the idea that people experience deindividuation in social media and are therefore more likely to conform to a group norm or to say/write things that they would not normally do in their "real" lives. As one example...

Closing Case 1 Football Teams Use Virtual Reality The Problem College and professional football teams have a unique set of problems. First and foremost, teams would like to reduce the physical wear and tear of drills and practices on their players. In the National Football League (NFL), the most recent Collective Bargaining Agreement (2011) reduced the number of off-season practices, prohibited training camp “two-a-day” practices, and limited the number of contact practices in both the preseason and the regular season....

What are your top 3 takaways from this article? It’s always tempting to see the present moment as the peak of chaos and disruption, whether we’re talking about politics or just how those teenagers behave today. The same is true in marketing, because in many ways that profession is always in a state of chaos and disruption. But I don’t think it’s hyperbole to apply “peak chaos and disruption” to social media marketing in the first quarter of 2018. Let’s...
