A car with mass MC = 1.44 x 103 kg runs into the back of a truck with mass MT = 3.19 x 103 kg that is initially at rest. Immediately after the collision, the car is moving with a speed of 1.04 m/s and the truck is moving with a speed of 2.53 m/s, both in the direction the car was initially traveling.

What is the total kinetic energy lost in the collision? (Of course, the change in energy is negative but give your answer as a positive number, the magnitude of the change in energy.)
