How do you feel about Apple wanting to put your health records and information on your iPhone (Apple Health Records)?
Please write a 250-word original post answering the prompt.
In my opinion, apple health records is a viable solution for the factor of portability and easy accessibility of our health records and sensitive data. Not only does it provide us the ability to bring our health record on our smartphone device, as a factor of security and maintenance, since Apple has a reputation for stellar protection, privacy, and data security, we can rest assured that our data would be protected from any unauthorized access.
The functionality is easy to understand and interoperable with a easy to access user interface. While there hasn’t been a success in the industry where we consider the need and the use of PHR by the consumer, Apple health records seem to be able to provide the required functionality and just might succeed. In the easiest sense, the only obstacle is the factor of affordability. While the application is available to every Apple device, it is Apple-centric and the devices have to be from the company, which is where its functionality seems to be least helpful.
It would generally prove helpful for easier collection, maintenance and sorting of the data which would allow us to focus our time on subjects that matter more. The data collected can be shared with medical research organizations but only if we agree to share our data, with consent.
The better parts of this picture are the factor of accuracy, of the sensors, use of GPS as well and the fact that Apple devices can test the system easier since there is a single implementation needed.
