A backup or data backup is performed for backing up the original data in to an archive in cases where the original data is lost, then we can use the backup data to retrieve the copy and work on it. Thus back up is kept mostly as a copy of the original data. For time when you really needed to restore some files to your computer and the process failed, then we need to do the following:

a) Make sure we have taken the requisite backup before and the backup exists. Generally, there is going to be a log of information of backups.

b) Check if the file contains the actual backup needed to restore

c) Check that if it is a valid and current backup, check the versions

d) Check the backup file is not corrupted

e) Restarts any tools and computers keeping the computer intact and retry to restore the backup
