Many studio executives believe producing a movie that builds on a franchise that has already been established in a different medium, such as comic books and Iron Man or toys and Transformers, reduces the risk of a blockbuster flop. How do you think a character in a popular comic book series or a popular line of toys may influence a ticket sales fore- cast for a movie based on the character or toy? That is, how would you suggest incorporating that aspect into developing a forecast for the film?

When a movie is made on a already famous character from a comic series or book, it already has a target audience that is eager to watch the character getting a life on screen.

The character and thus, the movie already has a buzz which other movies have to create for themselves before the release. Thus, ticket sales increase and there are prior/advance bookings for the tickets.

This benefits the production house as they can now build upon the already available audience. The excited readers often post and share the details of the movie through their social media handles and influence other people to watch the movie.

For example, we have seen in 2019, the marvel studios avengers :endgame became the highest grossing movie. The comic based movie did exceptionally well.

There is already a buzz for the movie Joker (based on DC comic books of batman series). People already love the character and would wish to give a try to come out and watch the movie.

So, it's really beneficial to incorporate this aspect because it really plays a huge role in the audience turn out.
