Usually for all the photochemical reactions like photosynthesis, phototropism etc, the quantum yield is less than 1.

But an exception to this is in the case of photoluminescence, which involves chain reactions initiated by absorption of a single photon that result in multiple catalytic events and hence results in a quantum yield greater than 1.

Here the energy of excited level is greater than the energy of emission level.
