Weber states that the material basis of society is related to the ideological. People want to acquire more wealth and this leads to suppression of the disadvantaged class in order to reap profits. Economic power refers to societal power when the resources are controlled by a few privileged class wherein they control material resources, and monopolise accumulation. This leads to a class of people who own lands and exercise power by employing people who are skilled. Political power depends on factors such as coercion, communication, leadership and charisma, political power takes advantage of this subordination of classes based on race, social class to showcase that they are willing to uplift these classes. Traditional authority also takes advantage of the social hierarchy which is prevalent in the society. Political power is based on class and status interests.
