Two identical malignant cancer cells with identical speeds in the blood flow, collide with each other...

Two identical malignant cancer cells with identical speeds in the blood flow, collide with each other at a right angle as depicted in the diagram on the next page. Due to special adhesion proteins on their surface, they are stuck together after the collision. Determine the direction of motion of the combined masses after the collision, in terms of an angle (in degrees or radians), with respect to the positive x-axis. Assume no external forces act on the system. Hint: since speeds are identical, then |v1|=|v2|= v.

Assignment 8 - Edfinity Assignment 8 Two identical pucks collide elastically on an air hockey table. Puck 1 was originally at rest; puck 2 has an incoming speed of 6 m/s and scatters at an angle of 60' with respect to its incoming direction. What is the velocity (magnitude and direction) of puck 1 after the collision? Measure the direction counterclockwise from the positive x-axis. Help on how to format answers: units degrees.

You have not submitted your answer. Two identical pucks collide elastically on an air hockey table. Puck 1 was originally at rest; puck 2 has an incoming speed of 9 m/s and scatters at an angle of 55° with respect to its incoming direction. What is the velocity (magnitude and direction of puck 1 after the collision? Measure the direction counterclockwise from the positive z-axis. Help on how to format answers: units 0 = 1 by degrees.

    15. Two automobiles traveling at right angles to each other collide and stick together. Car A has a mass of 1000 kg and had a speed of 25 m/s before the collision. Car B has a mass of 1500 kg. The skid marks show that, immediately after the collision, the wreckage was moving in a direction making an angle of 40° with the original direction of car A. What was the speed of car B before the collision, assuming that...

Several students realized that it would be possible to study two-dimensional collisions using an air table, an apparatus where all disks glide without friction on a cushion of air. They placed velcro tape on each disk so that the disks would stick together after the collision. Masses ml and m2 were given velocities vi and v2 to cause the two disks to collide and stick together at the origin. The two disks move off together at speed y making an...
