Antibiotics are medications that are used to kill or destroy bacterias. Sometimes the effect will be slowing down of the process of bacterial infection alone. These are used by doctors for infections caused by bacterias alond and not for viral infections. This is mainly because viral particles are made of a protenacious coating rather than the cell walls of bacterias. These antibiotics attack the cell wall or cells of the bacterias. But even for certain viral infections, antibiotics are prescribed by doctors because, there is a chance that those virus might cause bacterial infections as a byproduct. So inorder to treat or prevent that, antibiotics are given.
But according to an article by Christian Nortqvist, says that some medical professionals are concerned of the over use or misuse of antibiotics by the people. When it is misused, they are letting the bacterias become resistant to these medications. They become antibacterial and multiply more. This is a dangerous situation. Overuse of antibiotics can lead to diarehea, nausea, vomiting, even kidney stone, blood imdisorders etc.
