3) What is the relationship between the coupon rate of a bond and the yield to maturity in terms of the bond's price. In particular, when do we have a discount bond, a par bond, and a premium bond? Please explain the rational behind the relationship as if you are explaining this relationship to a novice of Finance.

In discount bond coupon rate is less than YTM. Here the price is less than par value.
In premium bond coupon rate is more than YTM. Hence the price is more than par value.
In par bond coupon rate is equal to YTM. Hence price of bond is equal to par value.

if YTM > Coupon rate, Discount bond
If YTM<Coupon, Premium Bond
If YTM =Coupon, Par Bond
