Answer #1

Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS) or euthanasia is ending a patient's life at their own will with the assistance of the physician, where the physician provides means or information to do so. This is controversial because here death is not natural or has not come its own, but, it occurs at the will of the patient. In other words is an act where the patient kill themselves and the act is assisted by the physician. This act questions the sanctity of human life which is to honored and respected. The other problem is that it questions the moral aspects of humanity whether assisting in killing oneself is morally right or wrong. These are aspects that makes PAS so controversial. PAS must be carried in those circumstances when there is no hope for betterment in patient's health, and the patient is in severe agony and pain, and wants to end their because of these circumstances. It must be carried in rarest of rare cases where the agony, suffering and pain of the patient are beyond the measure of endurance even in its extremity, patient has no chance of improvement even in the slightest and the patient wills to end their life. Under such circumstances PAS is advisable, but, this to needs critical examination of all aspects by a competent agent.
