Have you ever really thought about how you learned before now? Through what methods, either conventional or unconventional, do you seem to learn most productively? Of the learning theories and perspectives presented this week, which do you think best describe how you learn? How so? Why do you think it is important for you to understand your own learning process?
While I never gave it a conscious thought before to my evolution of learning techniques, I do feel I have also come a long way adapting to various styles of learning. In my younger days in school, as I was more exposed to the conventional ways of learning, I really did not feel uncomfortable pursuing the same. however in today’s time, I feel merely conventional ways of learning cannot groom the students well. It needs to be supported with the unconventional methods of learning substantially because these unconventional methods of learning are not only scientific in nature but also suits to the ever-changing dynamics of education, especially with advent of internet technology in the market. We all as students need to stay updated. Conventional learning can help us strengthen our theoretical concepts while unconventional learning can foster the comprehension of the application of the same. These both learning methodology needs to go hand-in-hand and one cannot actually afford to overpower the other. There is a significance of each of these styles of learning. Of the learning theories and perspectives presented in the class, I feel Cognitive learning is the best for me because it is part of the Developmental aspects in any budding Management professional. So understanding the Developmental aspects is also essential.
Developmental aspects of our lives are significant in order to inform future discussion making particularly when it relates to our career paths. It is to be development aspects could be expressed in discussion making by various scientific measurements or implied, if the same needs to be observed to conclude upon a discussion activity. Developmental aspects deal with the behavioral psychology of the learner. In this regard, if a criterion-reference test can be undertaken as one of the tests under a particular model to comprehend the level of development and cognitive learning in order to examine the learner’s behavior with reference to the object standard, then such tests may possibly describe three domains of learning in terms of cognitive, affective, psychomotor while five types of outcomes by way of verbal Information, Intellectual Skills, Cognitive Strategy, Attitude and Motor Skills. However, the most important part of this test is the nine events of instructions which is the basis of this model. Such a model could be ADDIE Model.
Developmental aspects help in shaping the future discussion especially when it pertains to discussing the same regarding one’s career path with the manager. It is highly necessary that the employees open up in discussing with their Supervisors or Reporting managers about the personal development opportunities. Moreover, one also needs to judge when it could be appropriate to initiate discussions in the management regarding the same. For all these characteristics to be imbibed in discussion making, it is essential that the developmental aspects for an integral part of our lives.
