In the Book "King Leopold's Ghost" written by Adam Hochschild, what is King Leopold's Ghost?
In his most interesting book, "King Leopold's Ghost" Adam Hochschild brings out the cruelties, greed and terror of King Leopold who was the king of Belgium. He captured Congo and exploited its resources from 1885 till 1908, especially rubber. He also murdered nearly 10 million Congo people thus his ghost refers to his greedy nature, exploitative mindset and cruelty. This book is also a most important piece of evidence for how the Europeans exploited and made their colonies poor.
