A patient monitoring system displays ECG, respiration and arterial blood pressure. When any one of
these inputs exceeds a threshold, one or more of three alarm lights (green, yellow, red) turn on in the
patient monitor. A low on the input is associated with stable condition, whereas a high indicates that the
threshold has been exceeded. The conditions for turning on the light are: when all inputs are stable, the
green light turns on; when any one of the inputs exceeds its threshold, the yellow light turns on; when
two or more inputs exceed thresholds, the red light should turn on.
A. Write down the truth table for the circuit.
B. Write down the equation for the output/s as summation of min terms.
C. Use K-maps to design the circuit
D. Optimize the circuit to minimum number of ICs.
