Functions and benefits:

Humanities serve the function of explaining and relating cultures, history and languages. They elaborate how the concepts of morality, equality, justice and other dimensions of social life emerged and evolved over various eras. Social science is a related field, with more importance given to facts. Social science is a wide term that can include history, politics, economics, etc. It helps to connect and apply principles in each of these fields in solving problems of the contemporary life. On the other side, Natural Sciences helps to understand and predict natural phenomena based on experimental and observational evidences. Future technological development, be it in the field of biology, chemistry or physics, depends on the understanding and learning of natural sciences.

Misconceptions:

The most common misconception about natural sciences is that it is a collection of facts and is complete. The most common misconception about humanities is that it is a rather dry subject with no scope for research and experimentation. The same misconception prevails for social sciences as well.
