In this lab, a syringe is described as the proper piece of equipment to aliquot (dispense in portions) the volume when performing dilutions to make the difference Cu(NO3)2 solutions required for this experiment. Is it okay to use a graduated cylinder instead? Explain commenting on the accuracy as well as precision of the graduated cy;inder.

Answer #1

Generally The graduated cylinders are give more precision and accuracy than the laboratory flasks and beakers .it is mainly used for analyzing the liquid volumes.their tall narrow design makes for a more precise reading of the liquid level.

Generally ,You dont need to add drops with a pippete up to a the required level when using a syrine as you would have to if you wanted to use a measuring cylinder. The meniscus may be easier to see in them.

please answer the prelab excercise:) I tried doing it but I did not get very far Experiment 7: Grignard Reaction. Introduction Discovered by French chemist Victor Grignard, the reaction that now bears his name is an example of the preparation of an organometallic reagent. In this lab, phenylmagnesium bromide is the Grignard of interest, and it will be added to an aldehyde to produce an alcohol. Lab Objectives 1. To study organometallic reagents in general. benzophenone. 2. To prepare phenylmagnesium...

And I highlighted in red an equation (not sure if thats what you use to calculate it) And ignore the lab instructions on completeing a graph!! I already know how to do that in excel, just curious how Ln (relative rate) and 1/T in K^-1 is calculated by hand* here is the rest of that lab leading up to the question as I know its typically...
