Absorption costing, also know as full absorption costing, refer to the method of that shows that the manufacturing cost of a product is assigned or allocated to the units produced. It is also used herin the valuation of inventory. In other words, the finished goods cost will include the following cost:
1) Total direct material
2) Total direct labir
3) manufacturing overhead (Variable)
4) Manufacturing overhead (Fixed)
Absorption costing is also useful in external financial reporting.
