As a substance, every safety hazard has certain common characteristics that relate to its structure and function.
Differentiate between the six structural and three functional characteristics of safety hazards. (18)
Difference between Six Structural and Three functional characteristics of Safety hazards
A hazard is an event that cause harm to a substance, society, environment , people etc. A hazard may cause loss, damage, risk. The origin of hazard depends on the nature of substance. A hazard is probabilistic in nature.
There are different types of hazards. Let us discuss about structural hazards. A structural hazard is concerned with a mechanical system known as a machine which has some prescribed instructions must be followed. Resource problems are the only reasons for structural hazards. The most common structural hazards are :pipe line failures, in appropriate dismantling, electricity systems, welding, drilling etc., will create a harmful substance. A structural hazard may lead to physical injury.
The structural characteristics of safety hazards are : Minimizing the hazardous nature of work such as welding at substance or work place, Building safety work place to work with hazardous substances, safety precautions, wearing helmets during work time, avoiding noise pollution , sophisticated technology is used to avoid sudden break downs, accidents and for protection and safety.
A functional hazard is an error or failure in the prevailed system which causes damage or loss. It is just a human error and it would not result any physical injury. It causes material loss.
The functional characteristics of safety hazards are : continuous monitoring over systems, evaluation of efficiency and effectiveness and sustainability, assessment of risk, application of tools to minimize errors in the system.

research has shown over and over again that organizational structure is an important element to its success. But like every good medicine, too much of a good thing can turn very bad. Cross-functional training is mentioned in the post above is an example where structural flexibility is required. It is a good example, and there are many more. So, let's discuss: how much structure do we need and how much is too much?
1.Define what a linear program/linear programing model is including its three key characteristics. Be sure to state those characteristics fully. 2.Some models are deterministic while others are stochastic. Discuss two key differences between deterministic models and stochastic models. Then further demonstrate your understanding of these two different kinds of models by providing an example of a stochastic model including at least two input variables and an example of a deterministic model including at least two input variables. 3.Every linear program/linear...
In a certain building at a top-secret research lab, some yttrium-90 has leaked into the computer analysts' coffee room. The leak would currently expose personnel to 150 millirems of radiation a day. The half-life of the substance is about three days; that is, the radiation level is only half of what it was three days ago. The analysts want to know how long it will be before the radiation is down to a safe level of 0.466 millirems a day....
INTERMOLECULAR FORCES INTRODUCTION LEARNING OBJECTIVES To relate the effecet of intermolecular forces on relative melting points and vapour pressures of some organic substances THEORY Weak attractive forces that occur between individual molecules in substances are called intermolecular forces. These include London dispersion forces, dipole-dipole forces and hydrogen-bonding forces. Collectively, the three types of intermolecular forces are referred to as Van der Waals forces. These attractive forces are much weaker than the chemical bonds between atoms in a molecule. Note that...
Zara Organizational Structure Structure relates to a skeletal framework of activities and processes in an organisation and specifies the roles of these in achieving goals and objectives of the organisation. According to (Mullins, 2009), a good structure is highly important due to the fact that decisions on structure are primary strategic decisions which can make or break an organisation. One important aspect of a good structure is the human element. Organisation structure should be designed so as to encourage employees...
Explain what enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Outline several of their key characteristics. Describe in reasonable detail how a company leverages an ERP system and how its operations are improved after installing an ERP system like SAP. Explain how a supply chain management system helps an organization make its operations more efficient What is Upstream and Downstream management of the supply chain? Explain the concept of “Supply Network”, its benefits, and how technology made this concept available Explain the difference...
