Imagine you are the head of Corporate Communication in an organization that has yet to embrace social media. Assemble a presentation for the Board/Executive Leadership Team to persuade them that social media is necessary for prudent and effective crisis management. Your goal is to gain their confidence, resources, and overall endorsement of your plans to include social media in the organization’s crisis response. Your presentation should be at least 10 slides in length with speaker notes included for each slide. There should also be a title slide and a presentation slide not included in the 10 slides.

Corporate Communication in an organisation is a department that focuses on the type of communication and channels they are following in the organisation to make the communication and the flow of information effective and efficient in the organisation. This discussion is about how the social media is very important to handle the crisis management and make an effective business enterprise where efficient and effective communication can take place making everyone receive and understand the information and channelise the operations in the enterprise.

Social Media is a very important part in the organisational's crises response. Following statements proves the relevance of the statement:

1. Social media is the double-edged sword of crisis management. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram can be an essential communication tool for effectively managing a crisis by making large audience of people understand your message through a very minimal cost.

2. The communication is quick. It is an ideal approach which can be used to handle the crisis as the reputation of the company can be easily resolved or revoked again by stating out the facts and your statements on the social media platform which is very quick and responsive.

3. Responsive: The public nowadays is very responsive on the social media platform. Thus, 70% of the customers who are in the market have any of the social media to get attached to your company and get response and give response to any of your statements etc.

4. Very Cost effective as the audience can be reached at large with the minimal cost control.

5. Digitally used banners and advertisements can be created to make the customers persuade and understand your brand better. Any advertisement on social media would help in determining the type of customer and their likes and dislikes.

6. User Oriented as the advertisement would be shown only to those users who have clicked or are interested in the product. Your target market could be easily assessed.

7. Positioning and Segmentation can be easily performed. Numerical and Quantitative aspects can be calculated and assessed how many users are actually interested in buying the product.

Thus, by including social media in the platform for crisis management, the firm can achieve more profits and goodwill in the name of the brand.
