In your course i don't know which protocol you are used and you didn't mention. so what ever I know regarding protocol analyzer that I have explain.

Ans: protocol analyzer is also called as network and packet analyzer. It's a combination of hardware and software programming or few of case a stand alone hardware device.

- so that can be installed in a computer and protocol analyzers can supplement firewalls,anti-virus programs, and spyware detection programs.

Protocol analyzers can:

  1. Identify packet sources or destinations.
  2. Detect unusual levels of network traffic.
  3. Detect unusual packet characteristics.
  4. Search for specific data strings in packets.
  5. Provide detailed statistics for current and recent activity on the network.

- we can use WireShark to find out the traffic in network and it is a very popular packet analyzer. It is used for network troubleshooting, analysis and protocol development.

- WireShark is a great tool for capturing traffic on a single interface or system but it is not designed to handle large volumes of traffic. If you need to troubleshoot a single application or system then this is a great choice. If you want to continuously monitor and capture all network traffic.
