You would always have to leave room for adjustments like any other budget, as the costs may not remain the same right throughout the project period. At all times, adhering to the project budget is crucial to the project's benefit.
Keeping a cost track:
It is equally important to keep track of all actual costs as is any other technique. It is better here to plan a time-based budget. This will help you in each of its phases to keep track of a project's budget. It will be important to monitor the actual costs against the regular targets set in the budget. Such goals could be on a quarterly, daily, or even annual basis if the plan lasts for a long time.
Working with this is much easier than having a full budget for the entire project period.
