what are the life expectancy trends in the United Arab Emirates and why are they like that?
Solution
The life expectancy in the United Arab Emirates is increasing / improving year by year.
The current life expectancy over there is 78.03 years which is more by 0.18% than that in the previous year i.e., in the year 2019
In the year 1950 it was only 40.81 years but it began increasing exponentially over the years. The biggest increase was during the period 1950's to 1980.Post 2000s the growth has slowed down. The reasons for the same might be because the price of the fuel reduced in the international markets due to reasons like emergence of US shale oil production, increase in production by countries like Russia, conflicts between different countries in OPEC leading to increased production by each of them, etc., In the year 1958,oil was first found in the United Arab Emirates.
Since the oil prices remained unstable and fell to lower levels in the late 2000s, they began to invest aggressively invest their surplus in alternative sources which are the future sources of energy like solar, wind etc. along with concentrating on the other sectors like tourism, etc.,Till the time the oil prices were high their budget were surplus and there were no taxes collected by the government from its citizens. But now the situation has changed and slowly they are moving into budget deficits due to which the governments over there have started imposing the taxes do balance the deficit.
