Interpretation is crucial as it is way that helps in explaining how art does the communication. Through the context, the art acquires its meaning. Cognitive theory of art is all about reasoning and looking at how our thought process gets influenced, the way we perceive and do interaction with the world. How the Art is made and perceived, makes it a cognitive process.Cognitive theory of art states that, the formation of Art is same as that of mind where both factors i.e. experiences and environmental factors play the role. Many a times critics make some interpretations that are rejected by creative, comprehensive and cognitive theories. For example, some feminist critics have the misconception that nudes, which are done by world famous artists such as De Kooning, Renoir and Picasso have reflected ways where women have been treated as sexual property and/or muses. So, what if artist disagrees, how can an interpretation of work gets legalized? The simple answer to this question is that I would describe these interpretations as clarifications of how a work operates for the communications of thoughts, ideas and emotions. A good interpretation is when it is grounded in evidence and reasons. It should be able to provide an abundant, complex and enlightening way so as to comprehend a piece of art. There can be a possibility of complete transformation of an experience of art from disgust to appreciation on correct interpretation. By looking at an example, it will be of great help.
