Question 6: Ozone can be prepared by the following reaction 3O2(g) à 2O3(g). In an experiment an evacuated (no air) 10.0L steel vessel is filled with 32.00atm of O2 gas at 25 degrees Celsius. A current is applied causing the molecular oxygen to convert into ozone. If the pressure inside the vessel drops to 30.64 atm at 25 degrees Celsius. What is the final mass percent of ozone in the vessel?

Question 7: A hot-air balloon will rise when the density of its air is 15% lower than that of the atmospheric air. Calculate the density of air that will cause a balloon to rise.

Q8: Ethyne was discovered in 1836 by Edmund Davy and is a material that found many uses including in preparation of the first organic semiconductor (these organic semiconductors have wide use in digital display screens and new electronic devices). Methane vapors passed through a red-hot tube can be converted into Ethyne. Consider the following reaction

2CH4 (1600 K) YIELDS à C2H2 + 3H2

A 50.0L steel vessel filled with methane to a pressure of 10.0atm at 298K is heated to 1600K to convert methane into ethyne. What pressure does the reactor reach at 1600K?

Q9: Combustion analysis of 0.1500g of an unknown compound that contains carbon, hydrogen, and maybe oxygen yielded 0.3755g of CO2(g) and 0.183g of H2O(g). When a 1.00L flask was filled with the unknown compound vapor at a temperature of 54.8 degrees Celsius and a 100.0kPa, the mass of the flask increased by 6.466g. What is the molecular formula of the compound?
