  1. What are the two kinds of data defined in a class (and therefore an object)?, Why can we set a pointer to an array, but not set an array to a pointer?
  2. How times will the following code print the word “Hello?”

for (int x = 0; x < 10; x++)

for (int y = 20; y < 30; y++)

    cout << “Hello”

Answer #1
  • Data members (Variables)
  • Function Members (Methods)

Above are the 2 kinds of data defined in a class.

A pointer variable holds a reference address to the variable (array in this case, a pointer to array holds the reference value of the first index of the array, i.e. arr[0]). Whereas an array holds a collection of similar elements.

The above code will print 100 times.

    IN C++ Given ProblemSolution class. Use a pointer to object of “ProblemSolution” class to invoke the “CalculateSum” and “Print” methods of “ProblemSolution”. Write a function:    void Solution(int N1, int N2) that accepts two integers N1 and N2. The function should instantiate “ProblemSolution” object with N1 and N2 values and call “CalculateSum” and “Print” method by creating a pointer to the object of “ProblemSolution”. Input    12 5 Output    17 Assume that, N1, N2 and sum are integers within...

    Assume that we are writing a game like Minecraft in C++. We will have a World class that stores a 3-dimensional array of "Voxels". A voxel is a simple element of volume (think Pixel, but 3D). Your task for this assignment is to create a world, set some Voxels and display them. You are provided with a simple class for a Voxel that stores a RGB color value, as well as a character code for the type of element. You...

    In Exercise 1, displayAnimal uses an Animal reference variable as its parameter. Change your code to make the displayAnimal function anim parameter as an object variable, not a reference variable. Run the code and examine the output. What has changed? Polymorphic behavior is not possible when an object is passed by value. Even though printClassName is declared virtual, static binding still takes place because anim is not a reference variable or a pointer. Alternatively we could have used an Animal...

    Array with Iterator. Java style Implement an array data structure as a class JstyArray<E> to support the Iterable interface such that the following code works: JstyArray<Integer> data; data = new JstyArray<Integer>(10); for (int i = 0; i < 10; ++i) { data.set(i, new Integer(i) ); } int sum = 0; for ( int v : data ) { if (v == null) continue; // empty cell sum += v; } The iterator provided by this class follows the behaviour of...
