some steps to prevent and corrosion control of corroded concrete structure

1. Providing sufficient cover to prevent reinforcement to environment exposure.

2. Water used for concrete should be free from harmful ingredient such as sulfate, chlorite etc

3. pH of water should be as per codal provision i.e. pH should not very Low or very high.

4. Water cement ration should be less than 0.5.

5. using the plasticizers, Air entrainment to reduce water content and increases strength as well as workability.

6. Concrete should be sufficiently cured.

7. Aggregate should be free from alkali gradient.

8. Corrosion resistance can be increased by adding concrete additives such that silica flume, fly ash and blast furnace slag reduce so that it can reduce the permeability.

9. water repellent can be used so that it can reduce the effect if moisture and chlorides.

10. Membrane , Epoxy coated reinforced can be used.
